Job Description
Afinitas is hiring 2nd Shift Fabricators. Shift is 2:45 pm‑12:45 am with a $2 / hour shift differential. Work days Monday‑Thursday 10‑hour days.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Interpret basic drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied.
- Set up and operate metal arc, shielded arc, or oxyacetylene equipment for welding, brazing, and flame cutting operations; set current, amperage, gas pressures and controls; select rod, wire, tips, electrodes for specific job; fit, position, and secure with holding devices.
- Perform basic saw operations and painting as required.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- May measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers.
- Assist with detection of defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor.
- Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
- Participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and apply engineering change request process.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Maintain equipment and work area in clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to understand and interpret basic blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints.
- Beginning level grinding knowledge.
- Beginning level experience in MIG, TIG, and flex core welding.
- Team oriented.

- Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to obtain and operate mobile equipment needed to perform essential functions.
Work Environment
- Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.
