Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana in Metairie, LA, is seeking a Production Lead to oversee day-to-day store operations and production performance to meet and exceed budgets while complying with company standards and procedures.

The role acts as a supervisor when assigned, supports Production Associates, ensures donations are processed and displayed, maintains a clean, safe store environment, and works flexible hours including weekends.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and communicate clearly in English.
• Must be able to interact professionally with a diverse array of people.
• Must market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.
• Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with store and production personnel.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule at short notice, including nights and weekends.
• Must be able to use repetitive hand movements when handling garments.
• Must be able to engage in prolonged standing, walking, bending, and stretching.
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment with high volume.

Responsibilities

• Reach production guidelines (minimum of 110 garments per hour with a 90% quality standard).
• Ensure proper production of donations processed and ready to put on the store floor.
• Act as a positive role model for employees and trainees in all aspects of performance.
• Produce donated goods in the backroom adequately and maintain a positive public image through a clean store environment.
• Maintain safe and appropriate conditions in the back-room area.
• Keep the store clean and hazard-free by vacuuming, mopping and dusting, including bathrooms.
• Observe personnel and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance by Production Associates.
• Be able to perform the duties of Production Associates.
• Attend work on regularly scheduled shifts as assigned by the manager for the week.
