PlayStation also strives to create an inclusive environment that empowers employees and embraces diversity. We welcome and encourage everyone who has a passion and curiosity for innovation, technology, and play to explore our open positions and join our growing global team.

The PlayStation brand falls under Sony Interactive Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation.

Are you on a mission to create games that bond players together into deeply invested communities? Would you like to help build a game that provides deep team-based competitive gameplay and multiple paths to player mastery? Do you care deeply about setting your team up to deliver on their goals in a healthy, sustainable way? Are you excited to get your hands dirty and find the most effective ways to collaborate - remotely and in-person - on a new IP and game?

As a Lead Producer, you will be responsible for leading the team creating a major portion of a brand new IP at PlayStation. Through collaboration with other product leaders, the Lead Producer is responsible for creation of detailed production plans for their area and execution against those plans in a sustainable way, including updating and altering the plans as needed. The Lead Producer aides the Production Director in ensuring that the team follows production best practices and handles management and career growth of the producers on their team. This is a process and people driven role that requires a strong focus on establishing and maintaining efficient lines of communication. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and empathetic organizer of people and process who embodies a service mindset.

We look for candidates who value joining a mission-focused team with a diverse set of backgrounds, experiences, interests, and viewpoints.

  • Understand overall project goals and use those to inform planning and decisions in your areas of ownership
  • Identify and collaborate with other discipline leads to mitigate risks within your areas of ownership, ensuring that the team has the space to create something amazing while staying on a path toward ship
  • Manage and direct producers within your development group, collaborate with them to define near-term goals, mentor them regarding project or people challenges, and support them in achieving career objectives
  • Produce the Leadership Team for your area including scheduling and running rituals, tracking risks, etc
  • Establish production pipelines and processes for your areas of ownership
  • Iterate on production processes over time to continuously improve our collaboration, transparency, and velocity
  • Lead by example, demonstrating production best practices and subject matter expertise within your area
  • Directly produce feature teams within your area as needed
  • Collaborate with Production Director and other producers to align production plans across all areas of development
  • Assist the Production Director in managing production budgets, including both staff headcount and development budget
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven internal game development experience in a production leadership role, including experience producing creative teams
  • Exemplary communication skills, outstanding analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Social intelligence, great interpersonal skills, and empathy for creative teams
  • Strong critical thinking skills, results oriented, focused and composed under pressure
  • Understanding of agile ways of working and a consistent track record of applying agile concepts and practices
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, including effectively leading a team in spite of that ambiguity
  • Demonstrable product acumen to inform subjective product opinions
  • Commitment to the principles of servant leadership
  • Proficient in JIRA, Excel, Confluence or equivalent production tools
  • Experience working on a live game ("games as a service")
Nice-To-Have Skills
  • Experience working on development of a new IP from preproduction through ship and sustain
  • Experience producing teams creating PvP games and modes
