Our client, an A-rated insurance carrier with a strong national presence, is seeking to hire an experienced Workers' Compensation Production Underwriting Consultant to manage and grow business throughout the New Jersey territory. This is a high-impact, client-facing role ideal for someone who thrives in a production-driven environment and brings a strong underwriting acumen coupled with strong broker relationships in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and underwrite a profitable book of Workers’ Compensation business within the New Jersey market.
• Build and maintain strong agency and broker relationships to drive new business opportunities and renewals.
• Evaluate risk, set pricing, and make underwriting decisions in line with company guidelines and risk appetite.
• Collaborate with internal teams including loss control, claims, and actuarial to assess risk and tailor coverage solutions.
• Conduct regular market visits and attend industry events to maintain visibility and drive growth in the assigned territory.
• Meet or exceed premium production, loss ratio, and profitability goals.

Qualifications:

• 5 - 10+ years of Workers' Compensation Underwriting experience, Mono-Line or Middle Market Package.
• Proven track record of production underwriting and generating profitable business.
• Established broker relationships in New Jersey or the surrounding region.
• Strong understanding of Workers’ Compensation regulations, class codes, and state-specific nuances.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with a sales-minded approach.
• Ability to analyze loss history, risk characteristics, and pricing tools to make sound underwriting decisions.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
• CPCU, AU, or other insurance designations a plus.

Salary & Benefits:

• $140,000 to $180,000+ annual base salary plus lucrative production bonus of 20 - 30%.
