Job summary

The Cheesecake Factory Bakery is seeking a Production Lead in Rocky Mount, NC to oversee the shift, lead a team, and ensure high-quality, safe, and cost-efficient production of our cheesecakes and bakery products.

The role requires flexibility for 3rd shift, strong knowledge of GMP and safety, and the ability to work cross-functionally with QA and management to meet production goals while maintaining a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 3rd shift and have a flexible schedule.
• PQG (Product, Quality, Guarantee) knowledge and manufacturing/food handling awareness.
• Ability to read and understand product specifications and quality standards.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate basic hand tools.
• Familiarity with GMP and safety policies; strong communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead production work area with or without direct supervision.
• Support supervisors by monitoring performance and attendance; escalate as needed.
• Ensure profitable production through yields, safety, and cleanliness.
• Document waste data and manage inventory of ingredients and supplies.
• Create crew schedules and coordinate shifts and line changes.
• Coordinate with QA to ensure product meets specifications and implement improvements.
• Coach team members and promote positive, respectful culture.
• Ensure training and certification for new hires; maintain safety and housekeeping standards.

The Production Lead

takes ownership to ensure that the highest quality products are produced. The Line Lead provides support to Production Supervisors by leading and achieving business goals through superb people leadership on the shop floor, with responsibility for product safety, product quality, cost management, work safety, and compliance. The Lead is also responsible for executing production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead production work area with or without direct supervision.
• Support the supervisor with monitoring performance and attendance of team members and escalates if disciplinary action is needed.
• Responsible for attainment of projected yields and the timely and cost-effective manufacture of products and safe and sanitary conditions through effective monitoring, supervision and coordination of assigned equipment and personnel.
• Responsible for properly handling waste and accurately documenting data relative to waste disposal.
• Responsible for issuing directives for optimum utilization of all assigned personnel and equipment on the production line.
• Ensure team members’ understanding of Product .
• Create crewing and rotation schedules under the supervisory of Production Supervisors.
• Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
• Ensure that necessary ingredients, supplies, tools, equipment, and documentation are available for the next product run.
• Collaborate closely, in a positive manner, with QA to assure the product meets all specifications. Reports to appropriate QA and Management if a change is needed to improve product quality.
• Review Safety and Housekeeping on a regular basis and communicates areas of opportunity to employees. Is proactive in these areas and takes “real time” action to correct Safety and Housekeeping issues.
• Lead and champions the 5s program for his/her .
• Maintain shift to shift relationships by communicating with each shift supervisor before the shift change to determine production needs and priorities. Conduct a short changeover meeting with the oncoming Lead to apprise him/her of operational status.
• Ensure that new team members know their responsibilities and tasks and are trained and certified in all procedures.
• Coordinate team members meals and breaks.
• Study production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
• Complete and report ALL accidents in the production area, even if it is a minor incident.
• Explain company policies to team members and enforces safety regulations.
• Compile required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
• Lead by example by communicating in a positive, respectful and collaborative manner. Coach and help team members to excel in their assigned tasks. Exemplify our culture of inclusiveness, dignity, respect, and fun!

Qualifications

• Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work 3rd shift.
• Must be PQG (Product, Quality, Guarantee).
• Manufacturing or Food Handling industry knowledge.
• Ability to read and understand Product Specifications.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Industrial Technical or Machinery experience.
• Basic hand tool knowledge.
• Basic computer skills including Outlook and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and People Safety policies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English and Spanish is preferred.
