Responsibilities

  • Conduct performance appraisals and ensure proper training records.

The Production Lead 2nd Shift is responsible for supervising production personnel, methods, and activities to effectively achieve manufacturing goals which include sales, quality, and safety goals as instructed by Production Manager. Assure compliance with all company, federal, state and local regulations. Regulatory agencies include FDA, OSHA, NRC, GDNR and ISO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee packaging department manufacturing job assignments to most efficiently attain production safety, quality, delivery and cost (SQDC) in a medical device work environment.
  • Work directly with other Shift Supervisors to complete critical daily priorities, to ensure all orders meet our high-quality standards, and are shipped on time to meet customer expectations.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask and work under strict deadlines.
  • Develop team leaders and production employees by mentoring, training and leading by example. Advise team leaders on personnel management. Provide ongoing feedback to employees.
  • Conduct and document performance appraisals.
  • Provide necessary training and assure employees are trained properly by most recent SOP. Ensure training records are kept up to date and accurately reflect appropriate training syllabus.
  • Assure adherence of employees and work habits to comply with all company, Federal, State and Local regulations.
  • Interface with scheduling to optimize customer satisfaction of product availability and delivery.
  • Follow all company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma, or general education degree (GED)
EXPERIENCE
  • One to three years of related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc…) to complete daily assignments.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Must display initiative to complete all production goals and sales orders.
  • Must work toward continuous improvement.
  • Ability to interact with regulatory agencies such as FDA, OSHA, NRC, GDNR and ISO.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
SPECIFIC PHYSICAL TASKS:
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time as well as to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Close, distant and color vision and the ability to identify and distinguish colors
