Job summary

Activar, Inc. is seeking a Production Lead to direct production workers and ensure orders are completed to high quality and on schedule. The role emphasizes safety, process knowledge, and collaboration with management.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in manufacturing, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to analyze production data. Leadership experience is preferred and multilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Equivalent of high school diploma or GED.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Fluent in multiple languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Direct production workers to meet quality standards and schedules.
  • Review production schedules and adjust capacities as needed.
  • Analyze reports for quality, productivity, and inventory.
  • Support hiring decisions and performance management where applicable.
  • Provide training and safety awareness to workers.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment and a clean, organized work area.
  • Communicate issues to management promptly.
  • Maintain knowledge of all processes and tools used to inspect parts.

Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for supporting management within the area assigned. The Production Lead directs and assists production workers in accurately and efficiently completing orders to established procedures and quality standards. Although the Production Lead provides work direction of others in the cell(s), this is an individual contributor role where most of the day is spent performing duties directly.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Operates machines and provides work direction to ensure the highest quality of production is achieved.
  • Reviews production schedule and adjusts capacities to meet production order requirements.
  • Interprets, analyzes, and in some cases develops reports for quality, productivity, efficiency, and/or inventory.
  • May provide input towards hiring decisions and performance management.
  • Helps provide training and safety awareness of others workers in the area.
  • Ensures the safe operation of equipment.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Communicates with management in a timely manner regarding any order or personnel issues.
  • Maintains full working knowledge of all processes.
  • Ensures a clean and organized work environment.
  • Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.
  • Complete blueprint reading/understanding with specific knowledge regarding material properties.
  • Full understanding of all tools, gages, and other equipment used to inspect production parts.
  • May be expected to arrive early or stay late to ensure daily requirements are met.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Required: 2 plus years of experience in a relevant manufacturing setting.
  • Required: Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.
  • Preferred: Previous leadership experience.
  • Preferred: Fluent in multiple languages.

The employee may be required to work with hazardous materials. The employee may be exposed to hot surfaces, hot air, electrical hazards, and flames. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works with moving machinery and occasionally in outside weather.
