Job Description

Under supervision, bake, prepare, and cook a variety of ready-to-serve foods for Boardwalk restaurant locations. Maintain the highest standards of food safety, consistency, and quality. Clean and maintain work areas and equipment.

Job Requirements
  • Greet every guest, answer questions, and provide friendly and helpful guest service.
  • Prepare and cook food items including deli sandwiches, turkey legs, salads, baked goods, and party trays.
  • Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of food items.
  • Rotate food displayed following FIFO (First-In-First-Out).
  • Deliver food orders to restaurant locations on time.
  • Plan daily and prepare for the next day’s production.
  • Accurately fill food production requests.
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards.
  • Maintain an official Temperature Log.
  • Follow all food and equipment safety practices.
  • Communicate observations regarding food waste and product demand.
  • Clean equipment and work areas.
  • Complete closing checklists and daily reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Training and Experience

Some experience in commercial cooking and volume food preparation is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to follow all food safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in knife techniques.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and read recipes.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks like slicing and dicing.
  • Knowledge of proper back safety procedures.
  • Ability to learn to operate equipment such as slicers, steamers, and ovens.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective cleaning and safety awareness.
  • Ability to handle high-volume production.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Compliance with departmental and company policies.
  • Ability to obtain a CA Food Handler card within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
  • Perform physically demanding tasks: walking, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and stocking materials.
  • Work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
  • Hear normal conversation and read documents.
  • Climb stairs.
  • Lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Bi-manual dexterity.
