Chart, Inc. in New Prague, MN is seeking a General Laborer for the day shift to support manufacturing processes. This role focuses on blasting, grinding, and assisting department welders with various tank assembly tasks.

Responsibilities include operating cranes, forklifts, and manlifts, applying logos to vessels, and helping prepare vessels for hydro testing while maintaining records and safety practices. Eligible for PTO, health benefits, and retirement plan options.

Qualifications

Job description

Chart’s New Prague, MN location is currently seeking candidates interested in our General Laborer position on our day shift. Thisposition plays a key role in the manufacturing process of Chart’s products and is primarily responsiblefor blasting, grinding and assisting department welders in performing various tank assembly functions.

What Will You Do?

• Operating cranes, forklifts and manlifts.
• Blast and grind plate for internal customers
• Applying logos and decals to vessels
• Help prepare vessels for hydro testing (positioning, filling with water, pressurizing & liquid penetrate testing)
• Maintain required production and inspection records
• Assist with the assembly of vessels or other sub-assemblies
• Maintain the necessary equipment to perform testing
• Observe and practice safety procedures and policies
• May be asked to work in other areas as company needs require
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. and occasionally heavier (50-60 lbs.) with assistance
• Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling
• Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of materials
• Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions
• Exposure to metal cutting, welding odors, welding flash and incidental acceptable limits of x-ray radiation
• Possible exposure to chemical odors and temperature extremes
• Exposure to overhead objects and occasional flying debris
• Required use of safety glasses with side shields, ANSI approved steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection and hard hat
