Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Quality Floor Technician to support manufacturing operations on the production floor. You will perform inspections, data collection, and process verification to ensure product quality and compliance with standards, collaborating with production, engineering, and quality teams.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, basic statistical understanding, and hands-on use of gages and inspection instruments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year in manufacturing or quality inspection.
• Basic understanding of quality systems and inspection techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong math skills and data interpretation.
• Familiarity with MSA and Gage R&R concepts preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform first article inspections (FAI) and support validation activities.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections using hand gauges (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, pin gages, etc.).
• Record results on check sheets and/or electronic systems.
• Establish and monitor control points, clean points, and inspection/sort activities.
• Support and execute safe launch containment activities, including inspections and data collection.
• Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming material, support containment and corrective actions.
• Participate in Gage R&R and other Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities.
• Assist in maintaining inspection equipment and gage control systems.
• Perform basic audits, including LPAs, 5S audits, and product/process checks.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing accurate data and observations.
• Maintain production floor cleanliness and organization (5S standards).
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, work instructions, and control plans.
• Follow safety policies and promote a safe work environment.
• Communicate quality issues clearly to production and quality leadership.
• Support training of operators on quality standards and inspection methods, as needed.
• Maintain proper documentation and traceability of inspected materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
