Job summary

Mission Critical Group (MCG) is seeking a Production Floor Manager to lead end-to-end production activities from metal shop to QC testing at our WCH5 site. Under the Plant Manager, you will drive daily operations, safety, and productivity improvements to meet operational goals.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing leadership and 10+ years hands-on technical assembly, with strong ability to read schematics and blueprints.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing leadership.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in technical equipment assembly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and blueprints.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications or degrees in related field are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all production floor activities, including metal fabrication, mechanical/electrical assembly, and QC testing.
• Lead, train, and mentor Team Leads and department members to foster safety, precision, and professional growth.
• Design and execute workflow improvements; identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance throughput and project execution.
• Partner with stakeholders to implement and maintain quality control programs, including ISO 9000 certification.
• Collaborate with other departments to support new product development and prototype builds.
• Propose and implement layouts for optimal floor flow and establish preventative maintenance programs.
• Play a key role in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding production talent.

Production Floor Manager serves as the operational anchor within the manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for the end-to-end execution of production activities—from the metal shop to final quality testing. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Floor Manager will lead daily operations, which will include the physical plant, and its human resources, driving process improvements and optimizing productivity to ensure we meet our operational objectives.

• Operational Leadership: Direct and oversee all production floor activities, including metal fabrication, mechanical/electrical assembly, and QC testing.
• Team Mentorship: Lead, train, and mentor Team Leads and department members to foster a culture of safety, precision, and professional growth.
• Process Optimization: Design and execute workflow improvements. You will be expected to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance throughput and project execution.
• Quality & Compliance: Partner with stakeholders to implement and maintain rigorous quality control programs, to include but not limited to ISO 9000 certification.
• Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to support new product development (NPD) and prototype builds.
• Facility Oversight: Propose and implement layouts for optimal floor flow and establish preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
• Talent Acquisition: Play a key role in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding the next generation of production talent.

Supervisory Responsibility

• Supervise and manage direct reports - Team Leads and Technicians
• Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing leadership and 10+ years of hands‑on experience in technical equipment assembly preferred.
• Technical Literacy: Must be able to read and interpret complex schematics and blueprints.
• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical certifications or degrees in a related field are a plus.
• Compliance: Ability to pass additional background screenings as required by operational needs.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Environment: Dynamic manufacturing floor environment with varying temperatures and noise levels consistent with industrial machinery and fork trucks.
• Physicality: Ability to stand, squat, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Mobility: Must be able to access and navigate each department within the assigned facility. Must be able to travel between EECOE locations as needed, some travel could require overnight stays.
• Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively using phones or computer software.
