Job summary

Mission Critical Group is seeking a Production Technician to read electrical schematics and assemble control panels and equipment to meet client specifications. The role may include testing, pre-test QC, and some travel to client sites or facilities.

You will perform routine shop and equipment maintenance, work with hand and power tools, and follow safety PPE requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience in electrical/control systems is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED or relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in mechanical assembly/repair or related field.
  • Valid driver’s license; background screening may be required.
  • Preferred OSHA10 and CPR certifications.

Job Description

Taking direction from Managers and Team Leads the Production Technician will be expected to read and understand electrical schematics, assemble control panels and equipment of varying size and scope to meet client and product specifications, and conduct pre-testing quality control as well as testing of completed systems. The Technician will also assist with routine shop and equipment maintenance. A background in electrical/ control systems and PLC experience are a plus. This position may require infrequent travel for installation/service deployment.

The following list of responsibilities is not all inclusive, additional projects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. MCG retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position should operational needs warrant.

  • Pre-Test/QC and Test completed systems.

General Expectations of the position:

  • Take direction from Managers and Team leads.
  • Follow training instructions from level Three Technician
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Wear proper work attire and PPE.
  • Maintain a positive work attitude.
  • Be on time at the start of the day and on time returning from breaks and work until the end of the day.
  • Give adequate notice for personal time off (PTO)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent OR relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years in mechanical assembly/mechanical repair or associated field.
  • Satisfactory completion of additional background screening (if applicable).
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Preferred certifications (OSHA10, CPR)

Physical Requirements:

  • Safety glasses and equipment for daily use. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn, and this can be obtained from the MCG Fastenal cabinet.
  • Hand protection, either cut resistant gloves or Leather work gloves as appropriate.
  • Hearing protection when required. Earmuffs assigned by safety office for fabrication area.
  • Steel or Composite toe boots or shoes for daily use will be purchased by the Technician. Reimbursement may be requested for one pair once a year.
  • Physical exertion may vary depending on position type. May be required to regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, frequently stand or walk around the work area, and lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Assembling may involve manipulating small parts and using hand tools. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are essential for this job. Comfortable with occasional repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and stay alert to potential hazards on the shop floor.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.
  • Manufacturing facilities can be loud and have bright lights. Subjective to seasonal weather conditions (hot in summer and cold in winter months).
  • Availability to travel, as needed, between MCG manufacturing facilities (Stone Mountain, North Wales & West Chester) and/or client sites. Some travel will require overnight stays.
