Stepan Company in Elwood, IL is seeking an Area 2 West Production Specialist to lead planning and execution of production and maintenance activities. The role includes developing work instructions, coordinating safety plans, and ensuring efficient project delivery across cross-functional teams.

The candidate will drive safety culture, supervise maintenance tasks, and coordinate training for hourly personnel, with responsibilities spanning from audits to capital project support.

Qualifications

• 5 years of chemical processing experience including supervision.
• Strong understanding of unit operations and process troubleshooting.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to respond to on-call emergencies and shutdowns.
• Proven planning and organizational abilities.
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.

Responsabilités

• Provide work permits and ensure safety planning with EH&S.
• Audit maintenance/construction activities with EH&S Generalist.
• Develop and coordinate safety plans for planned activities.
• Lead safety culture and participate in investigations as needed.
• Coordinate maintenance, equipment prep, and capital project work with teams.
• Plan and communicate turnaround and emergency repair plans.
• Support cross-functional teams with training and development.
