Job summary

UniFirst, a leader in uniform and workplace solutions, seeks an Assistant Production Manager in Texas. You will lead training, uphold safety, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced facility.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will guide a diverse team and foster collaboration while aligning production with business goals. The role emphasizes process optimization, cost awareness, and a service-minded culture, with opportunities for professional growth and cross-department

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of leadership experience with team-building.
• Ability to perform physical tasks (lift/carry/stand/walk).
• Occasional travel (<25%).
• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of production management experience with leadership & process improvement.
• Financial literacy to analyze costs and drive decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Optimize processes with Production Manager for continuous improvement.
• Achieve production targets while maintaining quality and reducing costs.
• Inspire and develop a high-performing, collaborative team.
• Foster service-oriented culture for internal/external stakeholders.
• Ensure safety through regular inspections and training initiatives.
• Oversee wastewater processes for efficiency and environment impact.
• Manage inventory, vendor relationships, and equipment maintenance.
• Develop and implement production schedules and drive improvements.
• Collaborate across departments to align goals with business objectives.
• Exhibit agility to adapt to change and drive long-term success.
• Support hiring, onboarding, retention, and offboarding.
