Job summary

UniFirst is seeking an Assistant Production Manager to lead training, uphold standards, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced facility. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will guide a diverse team while promoting collaboration and inclusion, using leadership, process optimization, and financial acumen to impact the Production Department.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old with valid driver’s license.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of leadership in production; strong team-building skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 25%).
• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years production mgmt experience with leadership.
• Financial literacy to analyze costs and drive decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ISO/Lean Six Sigma.
• Safety-focused and compliant with applicable regimes.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Optimize processes by partnering with Production Manager on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Achieve production targets while maintaining quality and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Support and inspire team members to foster collaboration and high performance.
• Foster a service-oriented culture for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure safety compliance through inspections and training initiatives.
• Oversee wastewater processes to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
• Manage inventory, vendors and equipment maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist development and implementation of production schedules and improvements.
• Collaborate across Service, Sales, Maintenance and Office to align goals with business objectives.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and offboarding with Production Manager.
