Job summary

SI Group is seeking a Production Engineer in California to execute production improvements in line with our ZERO EHS Impact Philosophy. You will partner with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, support troubleshooting, and drive safety and quality across operations.

You will lead or train others in advanced problem solving, contribute to CAPA and MOC activities, monitor KPI performance, and help implement LEAN/Six Sigma initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemical Engineering or demonstrated equivalency.
• Minimum of five years of engineering experience in a chemical plant.
• Experience in batch, semi-batch, and continuous processing and controls.

Responsibilities

• Ensure EHS compliance and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
• Provide technical support for production troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Lead or train teams in advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving processes.
• Collaborate with quality on chemistry issues and method formulation improvements.
• Develop project scopes and process packages for new installations and retrofit of facilities.
• Analyze raw material usage and drive yield improvement.
• Evaluate equipment time utilization (OEE) and drive improvements.
• Support basic process control systems (DCS - Yokogawa) optimization.
• Assist with creating and maintaining SOPs.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations to mitigate risk.
• Develop KPIs and monitor performance to close gaps.
• Prepare technical progress reports on active projects.
• Adhere to Corporate Quality Requirements and Responsible Care 14001.
