Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Production Engineer to support unit production line projects, focusing on problem solving and continuous improvement. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive safety, quality, and productivity improvements on the line.

The role reports to the Engineering Manager and requires strong organizational skills, engineering degree, and willingness to travel across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar major.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data reporting.
• Machine safety circuit knowledge.
• Project management experience with milestones.
• Willingness to travel to support NAMC.
• Ability to work weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage model change capital projects, including working with internal and external groups to meet project KPI deadlines.
• Provide capital and product support for powertrain projects including leading change point management coordination of internal and external resources for the implementation of projects, new equipment installation, model changes, refurbishment of existing equipment, new tooling technologies and other kaizens.
• Perform Problem Solving utilizing Toyota Business Practice (TBP) to troubleshoot process issues, identify root cause and recommend countermeasures via the creation of a strategy document in order to recommend and implement effective countermeasures to resolve issues, implement kaizens to improve efficiency, reduce costs and effectively meet KPI targets for assigned line.
• Work in cross-functional groups to ensure production processes are capable of producing quality products, within takt time, while meeting OA targets utilizing thorough root cause analysis, reporting and cooperation with support groups to implement countermeasures.
• Ensure successful planning and implementation of production, precision measurement, and testing equipment for new projects.
• Understand daily production problems in processes or part quality, quickly perform root cause analysis, and implement countermeasures.
