Job summary

Scholastic Inc. in New York City seeks a Trade Paperback Reprints Assistant Production Editor to oversee production of ~55 trade paperback reprints and ~5 boxed sets per year.

You will ensure quality, keep editors and designers on schedule, and manage freelancers for copyediting and proofreading of text and covers. Responsibilities include liaising with Editorial and Design, trafficking materials, and generating status reports while maintaining series consistency and schedules.

Qualifications

• Excellent copyediting and proofreading skills; strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Able to meet deadlines while juggling multiple projects.
• Strong computer skills – MAC preferred – with Adobe Acrobat proficiency.
• Clear, professional communication with multiple project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage production for conversion titles, boxed sets, and trade originals.
• Coordinate with Editorial on deliverables and with Design on layouts and covers.
• Traffick materials among vendors and teams; maintain schedules.
• Create status reports and participate in team meetings.
