Job summary

Scholastic in New York City seeks a Senior Manager, Trade Business Communications to translate publishing priorities into clear, timely messaging and engaging presentations for employees, retailers, authors, and partners.

You will partner with Editorial, Sales, Marketing, Publicity and leadership to tell stories about books and brands, drive launches, and maintain a consistent voice across Trade Publishing communications.

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of experience in business communications/marketing communications or related field.
• Exceptional writer and storyteller with ability to craft clear messages for diverse audiences.
• Strong visual design aesthetic with experience in polished presentations and materials.
• Ability to translate leadership feedback into concise narratives.
• Collaborative partner who builds relationships across Marketing, Editorial, Sales, Publicity, and leadership.
• Strategic, creative thinker who can manage multiple high-priority projects.
• Ability to navigate a fast-paced, matrixed organization and adapt to deadlines.
• Discretion handling confidential information.
• Advanced proficiency in Google Slides and Microsoft PowerPoint; knowledge of Google Workspace and Office.
• Experience with Salesforce and Spekit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead content development for seasonal Presales, Sales Conference, and Launch materials.
• Develop core sales and marketing materials for major franchises (Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Dog Man).
• Support Sales by creating compelling partner presentations for key retail accounts.
• Create, design, and refine executive presentations, one-sheets, and communication materials.
• Develop and execute internal communications, leadership updates, and change management messages.
• Collaborate across Marketing, Publicity, Editorial, Sales, and Corporate Communications to support initiatives.
• Develop and manage a centralized communications and document-sharing platform.
• Maintain a consistent visual identity, messaging, and brand voice across Trade Publishing communications.
