Job summary

The Freeman Company is seeking a Production Designer to translate creative concepts into precise technical drawings for live events, exhibits, and environments. You will collaborate with account managers, designers, and production staff to influence cost estimating, inventory management, and production detailing, often across multiple projects.

Based in the Dallas area with a hybrid schedule (2-3 days in office/show-site), the ideal candidate has a strong CAD portfolio, experience in tradeshow

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD with a strong portfolio of technical/tactical design solutions.
• Excellent communication and diplomacy in various situations.
• Strong problem-solving under pressure and ability to meet deadlines.
• Collaborative, team-driven mindset and customer satisfaction focus.
• Willingness to adapt to new design methodologies or technologies.

Responsibilities

• Translate design concepts into precise technical drawings for live events and environments.
• Develop design collection projects into technical drawings for production.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients for technical input in design sessions.
• Review materials against brand standards and discuss budget and approach with the team.
• Understand and implement the structural aspects of design language for feasibility.
• Ensure quality and timeliness of the technical design deliverables.
• Maintain CAD files and design collateral with good documentation.
• Present designs for approval and manage revisions in an iterative process.
