Job summary

Plotsy is pioneering a new way to experience stories by transforming written books into cinematic, episodic videos through our Cineversion process. As a Production Designer, you will establish the visual DNA of our adaptations before a single shot is generated, bridging human creativity with AI to ensure visual consistency across dozens of episodes and multiple directors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Production Designer, Art Director, or Concept Artist with a portfolio showing fully realized worlds.
• Elite ability to maintain exact character continuity across outfits, angles, and lighting.
• Expert-level command of AI platforms (Midjourney, Nano Banana, Kling, Google Veo, Runway) with seed management and upscaling.
• Traditional grounding in anatomy, perspective, and color theory to fix AI distortions by hand.
• Literary and cinematic literacy: extract visual essentials from prose and understand lenses, composition, lighting.

Responsibilities

• Craft Character & Scene DNA: Create comprehensive character sheets (angles, wardrobe, lighting) and design key story environments with strict architectural logic.
• Establish Visual Guides: Produce color scripts and lighting keys that dictate the emotional temperature of each episode.
• Build the Master Asset Library: Organize reference packages and document design rules so production teams can operate autonomously.
• Iterate with AI Tools: Use generative tools to build assets while manually fixing artifacts, masking, and managing seed consistency.
• Collaborative Alignment: Work day-to-day with the Showrunner, Directors, and Chief Production Officer (CPO) to rapidly translate feedback into refined artwork.

As a Production Designer, your mission is to establish the visual DNA of our adaptations before a single shot is generated. You will bridge human creativity and advanced AI technology, turning prose into a master reference library that ensures absolute visual consistency across dozens of episodes and multiple directors. You are the ultimate keeper of the project’s look.

How You Will Spend Your Time

• 70% Pre-Production Design: Embedding deeply in the initial phase of the project to build character sheets, design environments, and define color palettes.
• 15% Reference & Continuity Systems: Writing design documentation and organizing master libraries to ensure flawless production handoffs.
• 15% Production Support & Iteration: Re-engaging during active production to tackle new assets, revise designs in motion, and support directors.

• Generative & Technical Mastery: Expert-level command of AI platforms (Midjourney, Nano Banana, Kling, Google Veo, Runway) alongside seed management, control nets, and upscaling.
• Traditional Art Foundation: Grounding in anatomy, perspective, and color theory, allowing you to fix by hand what an AI model distorts.
• Literary & Cinematic Literacy: Ability to extract visual essentials from prose and a strong understanding of camera lenses, composition, and lighting.
