Job summary

Plotsy is seeking an Editor to be the quality gate for AI-assisted episodic content, blending cinematic pacing with human artistry. You will ensure emotional depth and technical accuracy across episodes we scale.

You will review scenes for rhythm, timing, and continuity, provide precise feedback to Director Editors, and help optimize the post-production pipeline using industry-standard tools.

Qualifications

• Narrative editing experience in long-form episodic content.
• Ability to evaluate whether an actor’s emotional register lands.
• Familiarity with AI-generated video artifacts and failure modes.
• Proficiency with industry-standard editing software.

Responsibilities

• Scene & Performance Review: Assess generated content for technical quality and emotional authenticity (checking intent, eyelines, and reactions).
• Technical Quality Control: Catch and flag generative video anomalies, including temporal flicker, lipsync drift, and character inconsistencies.
• Actionable Feedback: Provide precise, constructive notes to Director Editors when rejecting work to ensure fast turnaround times.
• Timeline Construction: Build the initial episode cut in narrative order to establish the foundation for later stages of post-production.
• Continuity & Flow: Fix pacing issues, smooth out tonal whiplash, and eliminate repeated compositions between scenes.
• Gap Reporting: Flag missing coverage or required pickups directly to the Showrunner with tactical solutions.
• Sound Design Support: Ensure the soundscape accurately complements the edit and honors the book's original atmosphere.
• Pattern Reporting: Track recurring asset errors and deliver feedback to the CPO to fix systemic bugs upstream.

As Editor,you are the vital link between this technology and true artistry, serving as the ultimate quality gate and primary architect who ensures that AI-assisted generation never compromises human performance, emotional depth, or premium cinematic pacing across every episode we scale.

How You Will Spend Your Time

• 60% Episode Assembly & Placement: Laying approved scenes into the timeline, shaping transitions, and pacing the episode.
• 20% Quality Gate & Scene Approval: Reviewing, auditing, and grading scenes delivered by Director Editors.
• 10% Pipeline Optimization & Feedback: Identifying recurring technical issues and collaborating with leadership to improve upstream AI tools.

• AI Artifact Literacy: A trained eye that immediately spots failure modes unique to generative video (morphing details, hand/face artifacts, continuity shifts).
• Technical & Professional SkillsNLE Mastery: Advanced proficiency in professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Avid Media Composer.
• High-Volume Organization: Strong version control skills to manage thousands of generated assets arriving from multiple contributors simultaneously.
