Job summary

The Post Oak invites you to join its Event Production Team in Houston. This isn’t just a job, it’s a hands-on role supporting install/strikes at venues, installation of tents, and the setup of scenic elements, staging, pipe and drape, furniture, and décor to meet our client’s vision.

You will assist with shop and warehouse prep, load and unload trucks, and ensure equipment is accounted for during delivery and return.

Qualifications

  • Event set-up experience preferred.
  • Task-oriented, accurate, efficient and attention to detail.
  • Ability to walk, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods.
  • Open availability, including weekends, nights and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in install/strikes at event venues.
  • Installation of different-sized event tents.
  • Supports installation of scenic elements, staging, pipe and drape, furniture, and décor.
  • Assists with basic shop and warehouse prep, packing, and equipment movement.
  • Loads and unloads trucks and move equipment safely on-site.
  • Follows instructions from production leadership to ensure efficient and safe execution.
  • Ensures items are accounted for during delivery and pick-ups.
  • Cleaning and organizing inventory items upon return to warehouse.
  • Occasional overnight travel required, including air travel.

  • Ability to execute events while handling the associated stresses and challenges of meeting deadlines
    Open availability, including weekends, nights and overtime as needed to meet the needs of the business.
  • Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl
  • Must adapt to different weather conditions and noise levels that may be from moderate to heavy.
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 50-100 lbs.
