Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external customers and business partners with active and new work contracts.
  • Work with customers and internal teams to resolve issues that may affect production, quality, timelines, or contract deliverables.
  • Ensure work is being completed according to customer expectations and Merrick's quality standards.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day workflow of work contracts within Utility Services, Alternative Services, and Enhanced Services.
  • Maintain the facility-based contract schedule and coordinate the daily setup and takedown of work contracts.
  • Monitor production workflow, inventory, materials, and supply needs to help prevent delays.
  • Oversee quality control and help address production or quality concerns as they arise.
  • Train Direct Support Professionals on work contracts before they are eligible to complete the work independently.
  • Clearly communicate customer expectations, production processes, quality standards, and contract requirements to employees.
  • Coordinate and conduct Hourly Productivity Evaluations (HPEs), hourly job sampling, and production time studies.
  • Complete required documentation related to Commensurate Wage compliance.
  • Develop an understanding of applicable Department of Labor requirements and help ensure staff follow required processes.

Job description

Merrick provides employment and day services to adults with disabilities. As part of our Employment Services Division, individuals we serve have opportunities to complete paid contract work for businesses on our onsite production floor. Contract work varies based on our business partnerships and may include assembly, packaging, sorting, or other production-based projects. Individuals are paid based on established productivity and wage requirements.

The
Production Coordinator plays an important role in overseeing Merrick’s work contracts and serves as a key point of contact between our program teams and external business customers. This hands‑on position combines production coordination, customer service, employee training, administrative responsibilities, quality control, and problem‑solving to ensure contracted work is organized, completed accurately and efficiently, and meets customer expectations. The Production Coordinator works directly with business customers to coordinate new and ongoing contracts, address concerns, and manage contract needs, while internally working with program teams and training Direct Support Professionals on contract requirements and processes. This position oversees the daily workflow of onsite contracts on our production floor, including scheduling, setup and takedown, inventory and supply needs, and quality control, and serves as the go‑to resource when production questions or challenges arise. This position also oversees Hourly Productivity Evaluations (HPEs) and related processes to maintain Department of Labor and Commensurate Wage compliance.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

Essential Physical Functions

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of this position. The employee must be able to continually sit, stand, walk, and communicate throughout each day. Be able to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, run, reach, push, and pull, regularly move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally move up to 70 pounds.
