Job description

Production Coordinator

The production coordinator will support production for our Gina Concepts division and report to the VP of production, as well as the Divisional VP of Concepts. The production coordinator will work closely and liaise between vendors, design, product development, packaging, quality control and sales. They will act as the main support for production in facilitating cost negotiations, creating & managing orders, following up on the manufacturing of orders to drive the on-time delivery of a quality and profitable product, as well as meeting other goals.

Responsibilities

Vendor Relationship:

  • Communicate and follow up with overseas vendors daily.
  • Send stock and customer inquiries to vendors.
  • Request pricing from vendors.
  • Negotiate costs and calculate landed costs to check margins.
  • Liaise between sales and production for special customer inquiries i.e., testing, packing requirements, warehouse destination.
  • Help ensure on time deliveries.

Reporting & processes:

  • Create and maintain a production calendar by season.
  • Create and maintain work in progress charts as needed.
  • Style master setup and maintenance.
  • Purchase order entry.
  • Determine the proper HTS codes for all products.
  • Follow up, review, and maintain test reports.
  • Manage master charts by brand with all style info.
  • Various reporting, markdowns – inventory analysis – sell thru – seasonal sales projections.

Operations & inbound logistics:

  • Request estimated carton dimensions and CBMs from vendors and submit to compliance to be uploaded into our ERP site.
  • Monitor orders and manage a master booking sheet for the sleepwear division. Include the cargo ready date and priority level of each order.
  • Analyze and assess delay request forms from overseas offices and factories. Check sales orders effected and communicate updated due date to sales.

Sales Support:

  • Ensure catalogs are available in the system for the sales team.
  • Sample management, receive samples and distribute to the showroom and stockroom accordingly.
  • Complete customer spec sheets as requested.
  • Enter customer SKUs, and other information into our ERP site as needed.
  • Submit work orders to the outbound team as needed.
  • Monitor inventory and available to sell reports
  • Review daily inventory allocation reports
  • Analyze, understand, communicate, and resolve any allocation issues
  • Follow up with logistics on shipping related issues

Skills & Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and multi-task
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical with strong mathematical skills
  • Understanding of product development and production process
  • Knowledge of line plans, time & action calendars, and WIP reports
  • ERP and PLM experience a plus

NY Pay Transparency:

The pay range for this position is ($55,00 - $60,000) annually based on skills and experience.
