Ensemble Arts Philadelphia is looking for a talented Event Production Cook. The Event Production Cook will be a part of our kitchen culinary team and will assist with all kitchen prep and execution of events.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies, ensuring proper inventory control.
- Effective communication skills and ability to take direction from supervisors.
- Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner in a high-pressure environment.
- Must have excellent knife skills and proficiency in all aspects of cooking.
- Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and proactively solve issues.
- Knowledge of Health Department food safety and sanitation standards.
- Cook and prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff according to the recipe index, ensuring food quality and time standards are always met.
- Maintain a high level of communication, understand the verbiage for call backs of menu items, and keep lines of dialogue open and relevant to service.
- Answer, report to, and follow instructions and direction from Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or other leadership.
- Properly clean and break down station at the end of service, ensuring all food handling and food storage standards are met.
- Ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene always meet food safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, leadership, and vendors.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience as a catering/restaurant prep cook or prep cook in a high-end, high-volume, fast-paced kitchen (or comparable).
- Effective communication skills and ability to take direction from supervisors.
- Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner in a high-pressure environment.
- Must have excellent knife skills and proficiency in all aspects of cooking.
- Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and proactively solve issues.
- Assist team with events when needed.
- Ability to lift, pull, push, carry up to 30 pounds/ stand for extended periods of time.
