Description

The Food Services Team Member/Cook assists in the organization and delivery of high-quality food service for all meals served at YMCA CAMP CLASSEN. The role involves helping prepare food, cleaning, and other duties assigned by the food service manager. The Food Services Team Member works under the general direction of the Food Service Manager.

Requirements

The successful candidate must demonstrate prior experience in and/or ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver institutional food service. This position requires a passion for the YMCA's mission and a willingness to do whatever it takes to accomplish that mission. The candidate must also be able to relate effectively and work with diverse groups of people from all social and economic backgrounds.

• Incorporate the YMCA's four core values and character development model: Honesty, Caring, Respect, Responsibility.
• Assist in the organization, delivery, and quality of YMCA CAMP CLASSEN food services.
• Under the direction of the Food Service Manager, assist in conducting daily food service duties in accordance with State Health Department regulations.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings.
• Ensure all food preparation, storage, handling, and holding procedures comply with local and state codes.
• Work creatively to accommodate unique food service needs of the camp program and guests.
• Responsible for the proper use and stewardship of camp’s natural resources, facilities, and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area and related resources such as buffet tables and seating.
• Attend all required trainings to maintain the position.
• Represent the YMCA and YMCA CAMP CLASSEN professionally both at work and in public.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
