Job summary

GTI Fabrication is a contract manufacturer providing turnkey enclosures and skids for renewable energy, power, and industrial systems. The Production Control Technician ensures daily manufacturing schedules align with work orders, material status, and production priorities, working closely with cross-functional teams to maintain data integrity and on-time delivery.

This hands-on role requires disciplined follow-up, accurate transactions, and timely escalation of shortages and bottlenecks,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in production control, manufacturing operations, materials, planning support, or related role.
• Working knowledge of work orders, BOMs, routings, production schedules, material transactions, WIP, cycle counting, and inventory control practices.
• Experience using an ERP/MRP, MES, or production tracking system to review work orders, material status, and manufacturing transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, lookups, pivot tables, and analysis of production or inventory data.
• Ability to interpret production priorities, identify constraints, maintain accurate records, and communicate urgent issues clearly across teams.
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production schedules and ensure jobs are released, launched, and progressed through StartProto as planned.
• Coordinate with the Value Stream Planner to sequence work based on demand, material readiness, and constraints.
• Track work order status and communicate delays or risks before they affect delivery.
• Update the production Heat Map daily for visibility on status and priorities.
• Verify material availability and communicate shortages or substitutions that affect execution.
