Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Material Control professional in Houston to lead onshore service scopes, forecast resources, and manage procurement for the project execution plan.

The role requires 5+ years in material/inventory control, strong numerical and data management skills, and proficiency with SAP and Excel. You will collaborate across warehouse, engineering, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and accurate scheduling.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in material/inventory control and analysis.
  • More experience in manufacturing planning/scheduling is a plus.
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office Package, especially Excel.
  • Demonstrate strong numerical analysis and data management skills.
  • Able to communicate in English verbally and in writing.
  • Able to read and understand mechanical drawings, manufacturing routings, and work order documents.
  • Understand BOM structures and supply/demand information related to work order items.
  • Understand system shortage reports and identify critical path issues.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal/negotiation skills to interact with cross-functional teams to support production.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets internal customer inputs for development of onshore services scope of work.
  • Develops Tactical Project Execution Plan for workshop.
  • Forecasts resources to support the Project Execution Plan (i.e. Personnel, Tooling, Parts, Equipment, Capacity, Facilities).
  • Creates all Onshore Shop sub-service orders and manages those orders (dates, scheduling, tracking, shortages, status, SO review).
  • Reports Project Execution Plan maintenance and statuses to internal customers.
  • Reports initial feedback to Asset Planner and other internal customers (capacity planning, schedule creation/review, schedule impact).
  • Reports routine statuses to operations and other internal customers.
  • Creates and maintains short range (1-3 week) SAP workshop schedule, addressing conflicts to ensure internal/external customer success.
  • Provides feedback regarding delivery capability, work order variances, and project status.
  • Supports process documentation and compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Communicates business-critical events clearly to Asset Service Manager/Supervisor.
  • Participates in development and implementation of strategic initiatives for Subsea Services Asset Services Organization.
  • Monitors and manages procurement (dock to stock) including shortage management and expediting, and purchase requisitions for outside services.

  • Provides feedback to internal customers regarding delivery capability, work order variances, and project status.
  • Supports process documentation and employees complying with FMC Technologies and/or Subsea Services specific approved procedures, processes and standards.
  • Communicates business critical events clearly to Asset Service Manager/Supervisor.
  • Actively participates in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the Subsea Services Asset Services Organization.
  • Monitors and manages procurement (dock to stock) to include but not limited to: shortage management and corrective action, pick requests, expediting, purchase requisitions for outside services.

  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and strong interpersonal/negotiation skills in order to interact with warehouse, quality, third party, engineering, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to support production.
