Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Materials Planner I to support production planning and inventory control in an MRP/ERP environment. You will audit planning data, respond to schedule changes, and coordinate with procurement and operations.

You will initiate purchase requisitions, monitor shortages, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions while maintaining data elements affecting supply chain performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Materials Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of related experience in manufacturing and materials planning or inventory management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Extensive PC experience and knowledge of automated systems
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • SAP experience desired but not required
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be able to work without company-provided visa sponsorship unless currently sponsored Gulfstream employee

Responsibilities

  • Plan activities supporting Production and Completions requirements within an MRP/ERP environment
  • Audit and maintain planning information and part/material attributes in applicable systems and databases
  • Respond to schedule changes and bill of material modifications
  • Communicate schedule changes to procurement and operations personnel
  • Establish material requirements consistent with production rates, supplier lead times, and inventory objectives
  • Maintain data elements affecting planning and supply chain performance
  • Initiate purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Coordinate with Product Support, Manufacturing Engineering, In House Shops, and purchasing to expedite parts
  • Analyze shortages, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor excess inventory and assist with redistribution or disposal decisions
  • Maintain part disposition records
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and customer service reports
  • Generate replenishment schedules and coverage analyses
  • Train, develop, and mentor Material Planner I employees
  • Analyze demand variability and prepare recommendations for management
  • Follow safety, 6S, Lean Manufacturing, and quality requirements
  • Analyze and resolve issues to maximize customer service at the lowest total cost
  • Coordinate parts with personnel in other departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned
