Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Master Production Scheduler to own and optimize the master schedule across short- and long-term horizons. You will lead RCCP, drive S&OP sessions, and partner with procurement and manufacturing to ensure material availability and on-time delivery.

You will analyze planning data, maintain TRP/MRP parameters, and push continuous improvements in scheduling accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level education in a related field or equivalent experience in production planning.
  • Experience in master scheduling, supply chain planning, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/TRP logic, time fences, and ATP methodologies.
  • Advanced Excel with data analysis and scenario modeling capabilities.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive schedule discipline.
  • Excellent communication across departments and leadership levels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, publish, and maintain the Master Production Schedule across horizons.
  • Attend project kickoff meetings to capture requirements and milestones.
  • Lead RCCP to align resources with production needs.
  • Manage schedule change-control processes for stability and efficiency.
  • Lead S&OP meetings to align demand, supply, inventory, and capacity.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Materials to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor KPIs: schedule attainment, on-time delivery, inventory, backlog.
  • Maintain planning parameters in TRP/MRP systems and data integrity.
  • Review estimates, work orders, costs, and projections for performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in scheduling accuracy and utilization.

Job description


  • Develop, publish, and maintain the Master Production Schedule across short- and long-term planning horizons.

  • Attend project kickoff meetings to understand customer requirements, project milestones, and delivery expectations.

  • Create and manage TRP schedules aligned with project schedules, contract milestones, and cash flow objectives.

  • Lead Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) to ensure labor, equipment, and material resources support production requirements.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for delivery commitments, managing customer promise dates and schedule exceptions.

  • Own and administer schedule change-control processes to maintain schedule stability and operational efficiency.

  • Partner with operations scheduling teams to transition plans into execution and address scheduling variances.

  • Lead bi-weekly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings, driving alignment across demand, supply, inventory, and capacity planning.

  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Materials teams to identify shortages, mitigate risks, and ensure material availability.

  • Monitor and report key performance metrics including schedule attainment, on-time delivery, inventory levels, backlog, and capacity utilization.

  • Maintain planning parameters within TRP/MRP systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

  • Review production estimates, work orders, costs, and completion projections to support operational and financial performance.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on scheduling accuracy, planning processes, and resource utilization.


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, supply chain planning, or a related manufacturing environment

  • Expertise in production planning, master scheduling, and supply chain operations.

  • Strong understanding of MRP/TRP systems, planning logic, time fences, available-to-promise methodologies, and capacity planning.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and scenario modeling.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into actionable business decisions.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments and organizational levels.

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and maintain schedule discipline in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience facilitating cross-functional meetings and driving alignment among competing priorities.

  • Strong project management and continuous improvement mindset.

  • Ability to identify risks proactively and develop practical recovery plans.

  • Demonstrated leadership without direct authority and a commitment to operational excellence.
