Job summary

Comlux America LLC in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Production Control Manager to lead Scheduling, Production Planning, Material Planning, and Production Control to ensure on-time aircraft delivery and efficient use of resources.

You will oversee workflow from induction to final delivery, collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and other leaders, and drive continuous improvement with data-driven decisions in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years in production control or related areas.
  • Aerospace or complex manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and implementing metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Scheduling, Production Planning, Material Planning, and Production Control.

Role Description

The Production Control Manager provides strategicand operational leadership for the four core Production Control functions:Scheduling, Production Planning, Material Planning, and Production Control.

This position has overall accountability forintegrating production schedules, planning activities, material requirements,and production execution to support on-time aircraft delivery and efficientutilization of labor, materials, equipment, and other operational resources.

The Production Control Manager oversees aircraftand fabrication flow from induction through final delivery, using productiondata, performance metrics, and cross-functional collaboration to identifyconstraints, mitigate schedule risks, resolve issues, and improve operationalperformance.

The position works closely with Operations,Production, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Project Management, Finance, andother functional leaders to align production objectives with company prioritiesand customer commitments.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provides overall leadership andaccountability for the Scheduling, Production Planning, Material Planning, and Production Control functions.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains integrated production schedules and plans that align aircraft completion requirements, production capacity, material availability, engineering requirements, and customer delivery commitments.
  • Oversees aircraft and fabrication flow from induction through final delivery and proactively identifies constraints, risks, and opportunities that may impact schedule performance.
  • Establishes production control prioritiesand ensures planning and scheduling activities support organizational and customer commitments.
  • Leads the development and maintenance of production schedules, milestones, forecasts, and recovery plans.
  • Monitors production progress against established schedules and directs appropriate actions when performance fallsbehind plan.
  • Works with Production leadership to identify capacity constraints, labor requirements, production bottlenecks, and resourceconflicts and develops appropriate recovery strategies.
  • Oversees material planning activities toensure required materials, parts, components, and equipment are available whenneeded to support production schedules.
  • Partners with Procurement, Inventory Management, Warehousing, and Planning to identify and resolve material shortages, long-lead requirements, supplier delays, and other supplyconstraints.
  • Ensures effective coordination of material procurement, kitting, staging, and delivery to support uninterrupted productionoperations.
  • Develops and maintains production control metrics and reporting systems to monitor schedule performance, productionstatus, material availability, capacity, constraints, and on-time delivery.
  • Utilizes data analysis to identify trends, bottlenecks, recurring constraints, schedule risks, and opportunities foroperational improvement.
  • Establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) for Production Control and uses performance data to drive accountability and corrective action.
  • Analyzes production performance and recommends corrective actions to improve schedule attainment, throughput, resource utilization, and on-time delivery.
  • Leads cross-functional coordination among Production, Planning, Scheduling, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Project Management, and other departments to resolve production constraints and maintain workflow.
  • Establishes processes for identifying,escalating, communicating, and mitigating risks that may affect aircraft delivery, production performance, or customer commitments.
  • Develops and implements recovery plans whenproduction performance, material availability, engineering requirements, orother constraints threaten established delivery milestones.
  • Provides regular reporting to executive andoperational leadership regarding production performance, schedule attainment, material constraints, risks, recovery actions, and key performance indicators.
  • Provides leadership with data-drivenrecommendations regarding capacity, resource allocation, production priorities, material requirements, and schedule changes.
  • Leads the standardization and continuousimprovement of Production Control processes, procedures, reporting, andplanning methodologies.
  • Champions the adoption of best practices,process standardization, data-driven decision making, and change managementacross Production Control functions.
  • Establishes clear expectations foraccountability, communication, responsiveness, and operational performancewithin the Production Control organization.
  • Develops, coaches, and evaluates ProductionControl personnel and builds a high-performing team across Scheduling,Production Planning, Material Planning, and Production Control.
  • Establishes appropriate organizationalstructure, responsibilities, workflows, and performance expectations to supportthe Production Control function.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve planningaccuracy, schedule reliability, material availability, production flow, andoverall operational efficiency.
  • Supports development and implementation ofsystems, tools, dashboards, and reporting capabilities that improve visibilityinto production performance and operational risks.
  • Maintains effective communication withsenior leadership regarding significant production risks, schedule changes, material constraints, and recommended actions.
  • Ensures Production Control activities areconducted in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety requirements,quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Promotes a culture of accountability,collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Education andExperience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, OperationsManagement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred;equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experiencein production control, production planning, scheduling, operations, supplychain, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in aerospace, aviation, aircraft completion, MRO, or complex manufacturing environments stronglypreferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or leadingproduction scheduling, production planning, material planning, and/orproduction control functions.
  • Demonstrated experience managingcross-functional teams and coordinating complex operational requirements.
  • Experience developing and utilizingproduction metrics, dashboards, reporting systems, and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated experience identifyingproduction constraints, analyzing operational data, and developing correctiveor recovery actions.
  • Experience managing employees, includingcoaching, performance management, development, and organizational planning.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of production planning,scheduling, material planning, production control, and manufacturingoperations.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solvingskills with the ability to interpret complex operational data and translatefindings into actionable decisions.
  • Strong understanding of production flow,capacity planning, resource allocation, material availability, and schedulemanagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement,and utilize production reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability toestablish accountability and drive performance across multiple functions.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication andcollaboration skills.
  • Ability to influence decisions and drivealignment across Production, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Planning,Project Management, and other functional organizations.
  • Strong organizational and time-managementskills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operatingenvironment.
  • Ability to identify risks early, establishrecovery plans, and communicate operational impacts and recommendations toleadership.
  • Strong decision-making skills and theability to make sound operational decisions using data, experience, andbusiness judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Officeapplications, particularly Excel, and experience with ERP, MRP, productionplanning, scheduling, or other operational management systems.
  • Ability to develop and implementstandardized processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and employeedevelopment skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively withemployees at all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
Work Environment

This position worksprimarily in an office environment but regularly interacts with Production,Planning, Materials, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and other operationaldepartments throughout the facility.

  • Requires frequentmovement throughout aircraft hangars, production areas, warehouses, and otheroperational environments to assess production status, material availability,workflow, and operational constraints.
