Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, process improvement, operations analysis, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, MRO, aircraft completion, manufacturing, or other complex production environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing production processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing measurable process improvements.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, and process optimization methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes existing production control processes, workflows, systems, and operating practices to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develops and implements process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and other industrial engineering methodologies.
  • Analyzes production flow and operational requirements to improve the movement of work, materials, information, and resources throughout the production process.

Role Description

The Industrial Engineer supports the Production Control organization by analyzing, designing, implementing, and optimizing processes, workflows, and systems that improve operational efficiency, production flow, cost performance, and schedule adherence. Working within the Production Control function, the Industrial Engineer applies industrial engineering, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and data-driven methodologies to identify constraints, eliminate waste, improve resource utilization, and strengthen the execution of production objectives. This position works closely with Scheduling, Production Planning, Material Planning, Production Control, Production, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and other functional teams to evaluate operational performance, develop practical process improvements, establish performance measures, and support the successful execution of aircraft completion and production requirements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Analyzes existing production controlprocesses, workflows, systems, and operating practices to identifyinefficiencies, bottlenecks, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develops and implements process improvementsusing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and otherindustrial engineering methodologies.
  • Analyzes production flow and operationalrequirements to improve the movement of work, materials, information, andresources throughout the production process.
  • Develops and maintains data analysis tools,dashboards, reports, and performance metrics to monitor schedule adherence,production performance, material availability, resource utilization, andon-time delivery.
  • Collects, validates, analyzes, andinterprets production and operational data to support fact-baseddecision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identifies trends, recurring constraints,process variation, and performance gaps and develops recommendations to improveoperational results.
  • Collaborates with Scheduling, ProductionPlanning, Material Planning, and Production Control to ensure processes,systems, and workflows are aligned and consistently executed.
  • Partners with Production, Engineering,Procurement, Quality, and other functional departments to identify and resolvecross-functional production constraints.
  • Supports capacity analysis, resourceplanning, workflow analysis, and production optimization activities.
  • Develops process maps, value-stream maps,workflow diagrams, and other analytical tools to evaluate current-state andfuture-state processes.
  • Supports the development, implementation,and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions,process standards, and best practices within the Production Controlorganization.
  • Conducts root-cause analyses and developscorrective and preventive actions for recurring operational issues andperformance gaps.
  • Participates in cross-functional improvementteams and leads or supports projects designed to improve productivity, scheduleperformance, quality, cost, and operational efficiency.
  • Develops project plans, establishesimprovement objectives, tracks progress, and measures results for assignedcontinuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of implementedprocess improvements and uses performance data to determine whether additionalcorrective actions or adjustments are required.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduceoperational costs, improve resource utilization, reduce process waste, andincrease production capacity.
  • Supports the development and implementationof operational KPIs and performance measurement systems.
  • Prepares and presents reports, analyses,dashboards, root-cause findings, and improvement project results to managementand cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Supports change management initiatives byhelping define process impacts, develop implementation plans, communicatechanges, and monitor adoption.
  • Provides analytical and technical support toProduction Control leadership in evaluating operational risks, scheduleimpacts, resource constraints, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assists with the evaluation andimplementation of technology, systems, and tools that improve productioncontrol visibility, data accuracy, workflow management, and operationaldecision-making.
  • Identifies opportunities to standardizeprocesses and improve consistency across Production Control and relatedoperational functions.
  • Promotes a culture of data-drivendecision-making, accountability, operational excellence, and continuousimprovement.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation ofanalyses, process changes, improvement projects, and performance results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Education andExperience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering,Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, or arelated technical field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience inindustrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, process improvement,operations analysis, or a related discipline.

  • Experience with process mapping, workflowanalysis, capacity analysis, or similar industrial engineering techniques.
  • Experience working in cross-functionalproject teams and supporting change initiatives.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of industrialengineering principles, process improvement methodologies, and productionoperations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skillswith the ability to translate operational data into actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and otherdata analysis tools; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar businessintelligence platforms preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain dashboards,reports, KPIs, and other performance measurement tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, SixSigma, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to develop process maps, workflowdiagrams, value-stream maps, and other process analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of production flow,capacity, resource utilization, material availability, and scheduleperformance.
  • Ability to identify process constraints anddevelop practical solutions that can be implemented in an operationalenvironment.
  • Strong project management and organizationlskills with the ability to manage multiple improvement initiatives andpriorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicationskills.
  • Ability to present technical and analyticalinformation clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Work Environment
  • This position worksprimarily in an office environment but regularly interacts with ProductionControl, Production, Planning, Materials, Engineering, Procurement, Quality,and other operational departments.
  • The positionrequires frequent interaction with production and aircraft completionactivities and may require work in aircraft hangars, production areas, warehouses, and other operational environments to observe processes, collectdata, validate process changes, and support improvement initiatives.
  • The position maybe exposed to aircraft, machinery, tools, equipment, varying temperatures,elevated noise levels, and other conditions associated with aircraft completionand maintenance operations.
