Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Specialist - Production Control II for the Blue Ring C Shift in Huntsville, AL. You will help design the material flow, set up receiving and kitting processes, and build WIP tracking across multiple manufacturing streams for a new advanced hardware program.

You will coordinate with procurement, quality, and engineering to ensure on-time material flow and accurate ERP transactions while driving continuous improvement in inventory control and production readiness.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in production control, inventory management, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) systems and ERP-based work order management.
• Experience with production planning, scheduling, or material coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Strong understanding of inventory control principles — cycle counting, material transactions, floor stock management, and WIP tracking.
• Experience cross‑functionally with production, quality, procurement, and engineering teams.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); strong Excel skills for tracking and analysis.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Stand up production control and inventory infrastructure for a new facility — receiving workflows, stockroom layout, WIP staging, kitting processes, and material flow paths.
• Coordinate material availability to meet build requirements across prototype, development, and production hardware.
• Prepare and release work orders based on master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements; reconcile and close orders upon completion.
• Provide detailed status of work in progress, material availability, and constraints to leadership and scheduling.
• Implement material stocking strategies on production lines; maintain floor stock levels and inventory accuracy.
• Schedule and expedite movement of parts via move orders, stock transfers, and shipping across work centers and facilities.
• Collaborate with procurement, receiving, quality, and production to resolve material shortages and discrepancies.
• Monitor flow of jobs through production; work with supervisors to ensure on-time completion.
• Enter material transactions in ERP — receipts, issues, transfers, scrap, and consumption; maintain audit trail.
• Monitor MRB/disposition velocity; coordinate with quality to clear hold inventory.
• Prepare for, conduct, and reconcile cycle counts; investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Process scrap/obsolete inventory from WIP; maintain clean records.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activity with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, logistics, and program management.
