Placements24 is seeking a Production Chemist to support operations in Welkom. You will monitor chemical treatments, analyze production fluids, and diagnose issues to keep processes efficient and corrosion-free.

Collaborate with engineers and field staff to optimize hydrocarbon recovery and ensure safe handling of chemicals. A strong chemistry background and hands-on lab experience are essential.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a production chemistry role, preferably within the oil and gas sector.
• Strong knowledge of hydrocarbon properties, water chemistry, and scale/corrosion mechanisms.
• Familiarity with analytical techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
• Ability to interpret data and provide practical recommendations for process improvement.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and optimize the application of production chemicals (e.g., corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, demulsifiers).
• Analyze production samples (oil, gas, water) to assess fluid properties and identify contaminants.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot chemical-related production problems, recommending appropriate solutions.
• Conduct laboratory tests to evaluate the effectiveness of different chemical treatments.
• Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of all chemicals used in operations.
• Maintain detailed records of chemical usage, analysis results, and performance monitoring.
