Job summary

Placements24 seeks a dedicated Production Chemist to support operations in the Paarl region with a hybrid work setup. You will manage and optimize chemical processes, ensure product quality, and provide technical expertise to resolve chemical challenges.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial chemistry, capable of lab analysis, process monitoring, and collaborating with operations and engineering to implement new chemical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in industrial chemistry, preferably within the oil and gas sector.
• Proficient in analytical laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
• Understanding of production chemistry principles: corrosion inhibition, scale control, water treatment.
• Ability to interpret data and identify trends.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize chemical injection systems to improve production and asset integrity.
• Perform lab analyses on produced fluids, water samples, and process streams.
• Analyze chemical treatment programs and adjust for performance and cost.
• Troubleshoot corrosion, scaling, or emulsion issues affecting production.
• Maintain records of lab results, chemical usage, and process parameters.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to implement new chemical solutions.
