Job summary

Goodyear Commercial Tire & Service Centers in the United States is seeking teammates for our retread team. You will participate in recapping, remolding, and extending tire life by supporting the retread process through several stages.

Training is provided, and no prior experience is required. Responsibilities include inspecting tires, buffing casings, removing defects, repairing with cement or patches, applying tread, curing, and final inspection to ensure a safe, high‑quality product.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tires to determine retread suitability.
• Buff the casing to remove worn tread.
• Remove embedded objects, rust and repair the casing.
• Repair the casing with cement or patches before applying new tread.
• Apply new tread and build the tire.
• Cure the tire to set the retread application.
• Perform final inspection for safety and quality.

About the Role

What will you do? As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road! In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread


• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread


• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing


• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread


• Building the tire by applying new tread


• Curing the tire to mold the retread application


• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product
