Job summary

Goodyear Commercial Tire & Service Centers in Dallas is hiring for an entry-level retread technician. You'll support the retread process across stages like inspection, buffing, casing repair, applying new tread and curing, with on-the-job training.

No prior experience required; 18+, U.S. work authorized. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401(k), life, disability, tuition assistance, paid time off, and tire discounts. Starting pay is $16.50 per hour.

• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread.
• Buff the casing to remove worn tread.
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing.
• Repair the casing with rubber cement or a patch before applying new tread.
• Build the tire by applying new tread.
• Cure the tire to mold the retread application.
• Perform final inspection to ensure safety and quality.

As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road!

In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread
• Building the tire by applying new tread
• Curing the tire to mold the retread application
• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product
