Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Indianapolis is seeking a Retread Technician to support the tire retread process, from inspection to final quality check. Training will be provided; no prior experience required beyond basic skills.

Starting pay is $20.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, vision, dental, 401(k), life insurance, and tuition assistance. Opportunities for career advancement and holidays are also offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and buff tires as part of the retread process.
• Remove embedded objects and repair casings as needed.
• Repair casing with patches and rubber cement before applying new tread.
• Build and apply new tread to tires and cure retreaded tires.
• Perform final inspection to ensure safety and quality.

About the Role: What will you do?

As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road!

In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread
• Building the tire by applying new tread
• Curing the tire to mold the retread application
• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product
