Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is hiring a Retread Technician in Ohio. No prior experience is required as training will be provided to develop necessary skills for retreading tires and ensuring quality. The role involves hands-on work in a retread plant across multiple stages of the process.

Starting pay ranges from $19 to $23 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, tuition assistance, paid time off and more.

Qualifications

• Basic Requirements: candidates must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in manufacturing or general labor is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tires to assess retread suitability.
• Buff the casing to remove worn tread.
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing.
• Repair the casing with rubber cement or a patch before applying new tread.
• Build the tire by applying new tread.
• Cure the tire to mold the retread application.
• Conduct final inspection to ensure safety and quality.

The pay range for this position is $19 - $23/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. About the Role: What will you do?

As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road!

In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread
• Building the tire by applying new tread
• Curing the tire to mold the retread application
• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product
