Job summary

Chatsworth Products is seeking a Production Associate for the Paint Line at our New Bern, NC location. You will set up powder coat equipment, hang parts on conveyor hooks, and ensure safe, accurate coating processes on all parts.

The role requires inspecting equipment, monitoring coating thickness, and performing minor repairs as needed while following schedules and specifications. Training is provided for hangers and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Experience with powder coating equipment is a plus.
• Ability to follow schedules and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate powder coat and related equipment to exacting specifications and prepare equipment for production.
• Hang and remove parts from conveyor hooks as needed for coating.
• Inspect and maintain equipment for safety compliance and correct any issues before operation.
• Inspect coated items for coverage and test coating thickness; resolve quality/mechanical problems and perform minor repairs.
• Prepare parts for rework and apply powder to coating defects.
• Work from schedules and specifications and assist/train parts hangers in prepping for powder coat operation.

CPI has an immediate need for a Production Associate for our Paint Line in CPI’s New Bern, N.C. location.

Job Summary

Sets up and operates equipment to coat products with powder base paint.

Essential Functions

• Under minimal supervision, sets up powder coat and related equipment to exacting specifications and prepares equipment for production.
• Ensures that items are properly hung on conveyor hooks. Hangs and removes parts from hooks when parts are not available to powder coat.
• Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including but not limited to all guarding. Corrects any safety issue prior to operating the equipment.
• Inspects coated items for coverage and tests for coating thickness. Resolves quality and mechanical problems, making minor repairs and equipment adjustments, as needed.
• Prepares parts for rework and applies powder to correct coating defects.
• Works from schedules and specifications.
• Assists and trains parts hangers in preparing and hanging parts for powder coat operation.

Technical Competencies

• Good mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
• Good troubleshooting skills such that after a reasonable training period, the employee will be able to evaluate operational problems of the equipment and know the proper corrective actions.
• Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals.

Physical / Environmental Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, carrying, lifting, stooping, and crouching.
• Work with powder coat materials and cleaning chemicals.
• Lift 40 lbs.
