Job summary

Chatsworth Products (CPI) is seeking a Paint Technician for the Weekend shift (Fri/Sat/Sun) in New Bern, NC. You will set up powder coat equipment, apply powder base paint with a spray gun, and help maintain safety, quality, delivery and cost in the paint line.

The role involves reading blueprints, performing inspections, and assisting in color changes while training others. The position requires at least a high school education and 1 year of related experience; candidates must be able to lift

Qualifications

High school or equivalent education.
Minimum of 1 year related experience preferred.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications.
Ability to use measuring devices for product inspection.
Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals.

Responsibilities

Set up powder coat and related equipment to engineering specifications, and prepares equipment for production.
Uses spray gun to apply powder base paint to products.
Troubleshoots equipment problems and seeks resolution before maintenance involvement.
Performs higher level preventative maintenance on paint equipment as required by PM program.
Inspects coated items for paint coverage and tests for coating thickness; ensures consistent mil paint thickness.
