Job summary

Chatsworth Products (CPI) is seeking a Machine Operator for our New Bern, NC facility. The role focuses on setting up and operating standard sheet metal machines while contributing to safety, quality, and productivity targets.

As a daily operator, you will follow blueprints and production schedules, perform material handling, and ensure equipment and work areas remain clean and safe. The position is full-time, first shift, at CPI’s New Bern plant with opportunities for skilled growth.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates equipment including loading/unloading material.
• Inspects and maintains equipment for safety compliance and fixes issues.
• Inspects parts per work in process inspection procedure; resolves quality and mechanical problems.
• Requisitions material from warehouse and inspects material for damage.
• Maintains machine and tooling cleanliness and readiness.
• Works from blueprints, engineering specifications and production schedules.
• May operate forklift for loading/unloading material.

As a CPI Machine Operator you will occupy a key role in working with and for a company that builds the physical infrastructure that powers, protects and secures the world’s digital technology. Day to day, you will be responsible for setting up and operating standard machines in the sheet metal area. Responsible for meeting safety, quality and productivity expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Under minimal supervision, sets up and operates equipment including loading/unloading material.
• Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including but not limited to all guarding. Corrects any safety issues prior to operating the equipment.
• Inspects parts per work in process inspection procedure. Resolves quality and mechanical problems, making minor repairs and equipment adjustments, as needed.
• Requisitions material from warehouse, when necessary. Inspects material for shipping damage and/or supplier defects.
• Maintains machine and tooling clean and in good shape.
• Works from blueprints, engineering specifications and production schedules.
• May operate forklift, as related to loading/unloading material on equipment.
