Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Lexington, NC is hiring a Glass Inserter on 1st shift from 6:30am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. The role focuses on inserting and organizing glass for patio door frames, with emphasis on accuracy, speed, and physical endurance.

The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and following standardized work; forklift experience is a plus.

• Select proper glass batch on Optimizer Table computer.
• Consistently hold cycle time.
• Assist in movement of carts in and out of production area.
• Communicate quality issues or mechanical issues observed.
• Complete quality checks.
• Observe quality of IG units and glass insertion process.

Job Details

Base Pay: $18.00 per hour

1st Shift: 6:30am – 3:00pm M‑F

The Glass Inserter is responsible for the inserting and organizing of glass to be processed into installed into the Patio Door Frame and/or sash prior to final assembly. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast‑paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Select proper glass batch on Optimizer Table computer
• Consistently hold cycle time
• Assist in movement of carts in and out of production work area
• Communicate quality issues or mechanical issues observed
• Complete quality checks
• Constantly observe quality of IG units
• Break scored glass and place into corresponding slots on glass cart
• Repetitive motion while completing the glass insertion process

Qualifications

• Physical stamina and strength
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Experience in a warehouse environment picking and pulling material preferred
• Experience with forklifts preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
