Job Description

Primary Purpose:

• Days and shift times vary.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain quality standards by checking seals, code dates, labels, packaging, weights, odor, color, and temperature of products.
• Accurately insert components into cartons, take weights, and record data precisely.
• Ensure the correct supplies are used.
• Stack products at the end of the line on skids, involving reaching, bending, and twisting.
• Operate packing or filling equipment.
• Keep records on manual, computer, and other systems as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to Kraft quality standards in the work area.
• Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping, trash pickup, and lifting trash bags.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform sanitation and maintenance functions.
• Check products and complete quality documentation.
• Salvage rejected products.
• Follow GMPs outlined in the handbook.
• Collaborate with team members – promote teamwork.
• Perform production or sanitation tasks as needed.
• Work across various areas including floors, coolers, and production zones.
• Participate in sanitation duties when required.
• Engage actively in Safety and Efficiency Improvement Teams.
• Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
• Maintain equipment using KHMS system and settings.
• Complete maintenance tasks such as change-overs, set-ups, and lubrication.
• Opportunities for training on upgrade and relief positions within the Process Cheese department.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental policies.
• Apply KHMS practices like 5S, shift hand-offs, and problem solving.

Minimum Requirements:

• Basic math, reading, and communication skills.
• Work environment includes indoor settings with temperatures from 40s to 90s, and exposure to wet conditions during sanitation.

Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain a Fork Truck License.

Physical Requirements:

• Bending, squatting, reaching, lifting, and climbing stairs.
• Pulling and moving up to 50 pounds routinely.
• Manual dexterity for operating and disassembling equipment.
• Standing for extended periods while working on components.
