Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a Production Associate in Rocky Mount, VA. The role involves fabricating components for final window assembly in a fast-paced plant, with a base pay of $16.00 per hour plus a $1.50 per hour third-shift differential. Training may last up to six weeks, Monday–Friday, 6a–6p.

Candidates should be comfortable with heavy lifting, repetition, and using hand/power tools. Prior manufacturing experience and tape measure skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and authorized to work in the US.
• Able to pass a background check and drug test.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Experience in manufacturing and reading a tape measure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units.
• Operate hand or power tools, read work orders, labels and schedules.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
• Support window operations with delivery, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows.
• Carry out verbal and written instructions and read measurements as required.

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour, plus $1.50 per hour shift differential (3rd Shift)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Associate is responsible for the fabrication and production of the component parts for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This job description is reflective of tasks that will be performed in a variety of departments.

• Training period require working Monday through Friday 6a - 6p and could last up to 6 weeks approximately
• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units
• May support the window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows
• Perform any workstation function using hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers
• Understand and carry out verbal instructions
• Read and carry out simple written instructions
• Read work orders, labels, and schedules
• Use a tape measure (will be asked to read measurements during interview), inspect, examine, and observe for product defects
• Make fraction and decimal conversions
• Operate any equipment needed to perform a job
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Preferably with experience in manufacturing
