Job summary

Goodwill of Colorado is seeking an Associate I, Retail Production to process donated items into inventory and prepare them for the sales floor. You’ll sort, price, test, and tag items while maintaining clean, well-stocked areas and assisting customers as needed.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets or exceeds minimum productivity standards and KPI targets for duties.
• Sort donated items by type (books, media, textiles, housewares, etc.) including season, color and quality.
• Hang, size, price, tag and prepare items to be sold on the sales floor.
• Inspect and quick test items (plug-in or battery-operated) to ensure good working condition.
• Price items according to Goodwill standards of quality and value; research as needed.
• Keep production and sales floor areas well organized, stocked, and clean.
• Provide excellent customer service to staff and customers; answer product questions as needed.
• Refresh product selection by rotating or pulling unsold stock as required.

Our Retail Centers are open 9AM to 9PM Mondays through Saturdays and 9AM to 8PM Sundays.

Job Summary

The Associate I, Retail Production will primarily work in a production environment processing and sorting donated items following company quality standards and guidelines to determine which items will be placed on the sales floor to be sold. This process includes pricing and testing guidelines as required. The Associate is responsible for ensuring the sales floor area is well stocked with product in an organized and presentable fashion. The Associate may occasionally be in contact with customers and expected to be responsive in communication and provide excellent customer service. The Associate may be assigned to various areas that they have been trained in to include hardlines, softlines, housewares, electronics, mechanical goods, books, or shoes per the business needs. This position may occasionally work in donations.

Essential Functions

• Meets or exceeds minimum productivity standards and expectations/Key Performance Indicator (KPI)s for assigned duties.
• Sort donated items by type (books, media, textiles, housewares, etc.) which include season, color, and quality of product.
• Hang, size and price, tag, and prepare items to be sold on the sales floor.
• Inspect and quick test items as needed that plug-in or run on batteries to ensure the product is in good workable condition.
• Make decisions to price according to Goodwill standards of quality and value of product (good, better, best), which may include researching the item’s value on the internet or utilizing other company tools and standards.
• Ensure production and sales floor areas are well organized, stocked, properly merchandised, and clean.
• Provide excellent customer service to fellow staff and customers; answer product questions as needed.
• Rotate or pull old or unsold product in a timely manner from the sales floor to ensure product selection is refreshed as necessary.
• May have additional responsibility of processing E-Commerce product (sort, hang, size, price, tag, etc.).
• Follow all retail center policies and procedures.
• Ensure work areas are clear and organized and adhere to continuous improvement standards.
• Follow all safety processes and procedures to help provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas; act as a back-up for other areas as required.
• Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.

Education
