Job summary

Altec Industries in Elizabethtown is seeking motivated individuals for a production role. You’ll install parts and components on trucks per specs with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Our training program equips you for success, and attendance and initiative are highly valued. Shift is Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM (30‑minute lunch); training hours are first shift 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday.

This position is Sunday through Thursday 10pm - 6:30am with a 30-minute lunch break. Training period will be on first shift hours 7am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To install parts and components on trucks according to company and customer specifications.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read work orders to determine customer requirements. Provide quality and timely workmanship on each work order.
• Read schematics to install various components such as hydraulic valves, pumps, oil tanks, flow regulators, pressure switches, etc.
• Read drawings and use tape measure.
• Using impact tools, install outriggers, huck bolts, sub frames, and mechanical/hydraulic winches, and any associated equipment per the customer's request.
• Install ladder racks, steps and grab handles to truck body.
• Use small and large manual hand tools to bolt assembly components to truck chassis.
• Drill holes and mount all specified electrical apparatus.
• Install fuse panel for all electrical accessories.
• T tape/cover parts of truck not to be painted.
• Perform touch-up paint procedures as needed.
• Perform quality and safety checks according to company and customer specifications.
• Perform testing procedures for truck and unit in final station to ensure conformity with company and customer specifications.
• May perform dielectric testing procedures, with proper training and certification.
• May build hydraulic hoses as specified in work order, with proper training and certification.
• Maintain and complete any necessary documents or other paperwork.
• Maintain daily time records.
• Perform re-work as required.
• Follow established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures, and practices.
• Other job duties as assigned.
