Job description

Job Summary

Position is an entry-level position within the manufacturing area, primarily responsible for performing weigh-up or packaging duties within the production department. Ensures the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost and meets customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with Avient policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Obtains the correct documentation for the batch. Ensures the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area. May be required to obtain the correct ingredients for mixing and weigh out the ingredients to meet the recipe specifications.
2. Sets up and starts any weigh-up or packaging machinery, checking all controls for adherence to operating/safety procedures.
3. Notifies appropriate personnel of any issues, problems or concerns in a timely manner.
4. Safely and neatly processes, batches off, screens, cuts up, packages and/or skids material to correct size/container according to customer specifications.
5. Accurately supplies/supports Production Operators with appropriate materials/functions to efficiently keep all equipment operational.
6. Performs all required machine cleaning.
7. Completes and maintains required paperwork and/or documents.
8. Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

1. Requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, talking and listening.
2. Must be able to walk and use hands. Occasionally requires bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs.
3. May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
4. Typically work is in a manufacturing environment where noise level is loud.
5. Generally requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection.
6. Exposure to outside weather conditions is routine.
7. May be exposed to working in extreme heat and humidity.
8. May also be exposed on occasion to dust or fumes.
