Job Title: Production Assistant Supervisor

Job Description:

As an Assistant Production Supervisor, you will be involved in various functions related to manufacturing white oak staves at our state-of-the-art stave mill in Batesville, Arkansas. This role supports the management of production operations to meet standards of volume, cost, waste, and quality. You will oversee daily activities to ensure these standards are met, serving as a development path toward becoming a department or shift supervisor, with potential to manage an entire production facility. You will coordinate work schedules, staffing, and production sequences to maximize productivity, monitor activities, troubleshoot issues, and suggest improvements for efficiency or safety.

Compensation: $55,000 starting base salary, excluding additional bonuses.

Schedule: Training and potential work on both day and night shifts.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Production:

• Learn and understand all manufacturing and quality processes.
• Manage and lead team members in your area.
• Collaborate with supervisors and managers to achieve goals.
• Assist in hiring, training, and onboarding employees.
• Monitor and collect quality data to maintain specifications.
• Fill in for absent employees.
• Set and evaluate production quotas for quantity and quality.
• Maintain all facilities in good repair, orderly, and clean.
• Utilize equipment efficiently to fulfill orders.

Safety:

• Enforce safety policies, update training, and maintain equipment guards.
• Document safety training and maintenance.
• Communicate openly with team members about safety issues.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of management experience in manufacturing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn company-specific applications.
• Detail-oriented, accountable, and capable of prioritizing tasks.
• Effective at establishing and maintaining working relationships.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Respectful and courteous to all employees.
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
